Learn how to fire, tend, maintain and cook in our Cob Oven.
This workshop is for patient people: the oven takes up to 5 hours to get up to temperature and then there’s another 2 hours of cooking followed by an hour of clearing up. But it’s great and once you have completed the course you will become a BPCG Firemaster and will be able to cook in any cob oven.
There are just 3 places for this workshop which takes place during our Pizza Day. You will gain hands-on experience with the oven and cook a minimum of 10 pizzas. (Additional courses will run in September and October)
You’ll learn fire lighting without firelighters, selecting appropriate wood for all phases of the fire, building and positioning the fire in the oven, measuring the temperature, distributing the heat and maintaining it and finally cooking pizza.
