Save our Squash!

Learn to love your pumpkin at this soup-er workshop!

We’ll learn about seed saving, find out how to avoid food waste, then rescue every part of a pumpkin to cook up a delicious pumpkin soup. If you’d like to share your special Halloween pumpkin with us, and rescue it from waste, bring it along. We will photograph your masterpiece, then compost it as part of the workshop!

£5 per child / £2.50 low-income. Children of all ages.  This workshop must be booked in advance using our online ticketing system (see below).

Friendly Bacteria…What Lives in the Soil? 2

Have you ever wondered what lives in the soil? Be prepared to get muddy as we hunt for mini-beasts, forage for natural materials, dig under the autumn leaves and unearth the secrets of our compost pile!   


Join us at the greenhouses this October half term where we will be exploring the amazing world of friendly bacteria. Autumn is a special time of year when humans and bacteria work together to preserve the last of summer’s bounty and rejuvenate the garden for the coming year. From composting to fermenting our workshops this week will be all about our bacterial friends!

£5 per child / £2.50 low-income. This workshop must be booked in advance using our online ticketing system (see below).
