Seedlings

Weekly plant sales have now commenced at the Greenhouses. We will be selling seeds, seedlings and some established plants on a regular basis on Sunday afternoons from 1-5pm.

We usually have a varied selection of garden food plants, and in early Summer we specialise in tomatoes, chillies, peppers and aubergines.

All sales money goes to the charity to continue the wider work we do. Hope to see you there.

We are open Tuesday 12th and Thursday 14th June from 1-5pm.

Half-term holiday activities for families

Friday 8 June 10.30am-12.30pm and 2-4pm

Come and join us at Brockwell  Park Community Greenhouses for a day of leaf-inspired art and craft.

Activities include:

Led by Beth Barber, formerly of Royal Botanic Gardens Kew and Chelsea Physic Garden, this comprehensive workshop will
cover common outdoor pests, diseases and disorders of garden plants with a particular emphasis on food crops.

We will be making pooters and sweep nets and then having a closer look at some flying insects. Come and join us and bring an empty spice jar if you have one (one with a flat plastic lid such as Barts Spices or Sainsburys own brand rather than one with a rigid plastic domed lid). All will be revealed . . .

Gardener: Job specification

Here at Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses we are  committed to enabling a diverse range of local residents and visitors to participate  in our resources to learn, share and enjoy with the aim of bringing about  personal growth and greener communities. Our community garden space is a  thriving hub of volunteering activities and educational initiatives.

We are currently looking for a community gardener to help us  move our project into the next stage of its development. You will have  extensive horticultural experience, preferably with experience of or an  interest in food growing and/or wildlife gardening. A proven track record of  developing and managing projects is also essential as is experience of working  with volunteers/community work.

This is a new role, funded for three years in the first instance, and it offers the successful candidate the opportunity to make a real difference to our charity and the communities with whom we work.

Community gardener job spec

Saturday 5 May, 2—4pm

This two hour workshop will help you to maximise your yield in the vegetable garden using clever plant pairings to enhance growth, outmanoeuvre pest and disease problems, and attract pollinators.

Course led by Beth Barber, formerly of RBG Kew and Chelsea Physic Garden, and an experienced allotment gardener.
