Bees on a flower

Plants and wildlife flourish at the Community Greenhouses site. As well as growing a wide range of edible plants, and those with other domestic uses, we are also home to wild plants and animal life such as bats, stag beetles and frogs. To minimise environmental damage we don’t use chemicals or pesticides, and we maintain wildlife friendly habitats such as the pond and nettle area. The Community Greenhouses is also home to several thousand bees who are looked after by the London Bee Keepers Association.
