This week in the garden, and as the seasons change, we’ll be starting to set up the garden and greenhouses for the coming colder months. There is still a short propagation window and we’ll be making the most of that to start houseplants which we can overwinter in the passive greenhouse for sale next spring. We’ll be doing a stock take on plants remaining to be sold this year and stock we already have for next year.

We’ll be restarting renovations on the upper greenhouse this week by cleaning the glass and filling in damage to the walls, preparing these for painting next week. Outside there is still harvesting to do with the Damsons next on the list. The pond has a lot of Duckweed in it and we’ll be making a real effort to reduce the amount of weed in the pond. On Friday we aim to move all the rainwater collected in our storage tanks and pour it into the pond.

This Friday to Sunday, Wide Awake, Mighty Hoopla and Cross the Tracks are going on in Brockwell Park. But we will remain open and accessible so do still come along to the Greenhouses. If you are going to Cross the Tracks Festival on the Sunday, come and see our stall where we are going to be running sessions making HapaZome (flower printing) badges and Flower Head pieces.
