Do you want a worth while volunteering day out from the office for you and your colleagues? Want to learn more about growing plants? Or want to get stuck into something physical and help your local community? If so, come and volunteer as a group at our lovely little ‘hidden gem’ in the middle of Brockwell Park.

Volunteering Activities

The afternoon will consist of a tour of the garden, a workshop on seasonal plant or vegetable growing, followed by a physical activity. We will aim to have some lighter, some more heavy tasks on offer and allow participants to swap between jobs if they would like to.

Cost

We ask for a contribution of at least £30 per head for company volunteers to cover the costs, administration of the event and to make a contribution to the charity.

When?

Corporate volunteering is possible on Thursday afternoons between 1pm -4pm.

Practicalities

We will supply tools, gloves and all materials needed to complete the jobs.  If your group have their own gardening gloves, they might like to bring these.  Also they should of course wear sensible outdoor shoes and clothes that they don’t mind getting mucky! Bring sun hats and cream, and water bottles, if it’s a warm day.

We will always have at least two people from BPCG on site on the day dedicated to supervising your group of volunteers.

We have full public liability insurance.  We have Risk Assessments available covering all tasks and general site use.  If you would like to see any of these, please let us know.

Before any work starts, our staff will give all your team appropriate instructions on using tools on the day and carrying out tasks to ensure that everything is done safely.

If you would like to have a site visit before your actual volunteering day to assess the place and the tasks, this is fine.  Just let us know and we can book you in.
