How to be a Gardener (children of all ages)

Mon 3rd & 10th Apr, 10.30am-12.30pm

Join us on a treasure hunt around the garden to spot garden implements and match them to gardening tasks to try your hand at. Make your own plant pot from recycled newspaper and plant a seed to take home and grow.

£5 (£2.50 low income). Booking required.

Round and Round the Garden (children of all ages)

Tue 4th & Tue 11th Apr, 10.30am-12.30pm

Can you wriggle like a tadpole or hop like a frog?  Delve into the fascinating life-cycles of birds, dragonflies and plants through games, demonstrations and exploration. We’ll be making fantasy birds’ nests as well as looking at real ones, we’ll get up close to pond life, and sow food plants in matching food containers.

£5 (£2.50 low income). Booking required.

Stepping Stones (ages 5+)

Tue 4th Apr, 1.30-3pm

Help us create some stepping stones to make our garden more welcoming for young children.  We’ll be rolling out clay and making imprints of animal footprints. Have a go at making imprints of leaves, bark and other natural materials in clay. Make a clay face or figure to hide amongst the trees and plants.

Leaf Mania (children of all ages)

Wed 5th & Wed 12th Apr, 10.30am-12.30pm

Use your senses to marvel at the wonders of leaves. We’ll be examining leaves under microscopes and rubbing, sniffing and tasting them too. You can also get crafty with leaf rubbing, tracing, printing and making your own recycled leaf sculpture to take home.

Storytelling for under 5s – April

Fri 21st Apr, 11am-12pm

Birdsong is music to our ears! Peep the Nightingale is desperate to join in with the Dawn Chorus!Can you help him find his voice? Come and make some bird noises of your own!
