Another year of this long-standing workshop that has so far designed and planted our Hot! Border in the walled garden and the ‘Oudolf’ border in front of the deck. This course is designed to build confidence in a range of gardening jobs and to think about how to make your garden different.
This year we will be redesigning our sensory border in the lower garden as well as implementing a design for the border outside the gate and all the way up to the tennis courts.
Maia Beresford, a garden volunteer and a garden designer at Andy Sturgeon’s practice has kindly volunteered to design the ‘Railings Border’ and we will be able to see the design progress over the autumn. Maia will direct planting in the spring.
We’ll be designing the sensory border cooperatively and you’ll have a chance to contribute. There’s also quite a bit of clearance and soil improvement to do before we get to planting, especially along the railings, so this will be an active, practical course as well as covering basic border design. By the end, you’ll have participated in making two new borders and have the confidence to tackle a makeover in your own garden.
The course takes place one Sunday morning per month from 10.00 until 1.00pm every month from October until July 2020.
