Discover the Medicinal Plants of Brockwell Park in the Autumn
6 October 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Have you ever wanted to know more about the medicinal plants that grow all around us and how to use them to support your health?
As the nights draw in and the leaves begin to turn, spend two and a half hours with Medical Herbalist Melinda McDougall in beautiful Brockwell Park and discover how you can use commonly-found plants to bring balance and vitality to your life.
Herbal medicine has been used for thousands of years. Modern scientific research has given us even more insight into how medicinal plants interact with the human body and how we might use them to heal what ails us.
Plants you may discover on the day include Hawthorne, Elder, Burdock, Dandelion, Ginkgo, Plantain, Nettle, Lady’s Mantle, Wild Rose and Yarrow. Learn about their folklore, recent scientific discoveries and how to use them safely and effectively. Finish the session with a herbal infusion at the wonderful Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses in the centre of the park and explore the herb garden.
Melinda McDougall lives and works near Brockwell Park and holds a first-class Master of Science degree in Herbal Medicine from Middlesex University. She empowers clients to regain control of their health through diet, lifestyle and natural medicine and is passionate about supporting women through the menopause.
