Discover the Medicinal Plants of Brockwell Park
July 13 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Spend two and half hours with qualified Medical Herbalist Melinda McDougall in beautiful Brockwell Park and discover how you can use commonly-found plants to bring balance and vitality to your life.
Herbal medicine has been used for thousands of years. Modern scientific research has given us even more insight into how medicinal plants interact with the human body and how we might use them to heal what ails us.
Plants you may discover on the day include Comfrey, Cleavers, Hawthorne, Elder, Dandelion, Ginkgo, Plantain, Nettle, Lady’s Mantle and Yarrow. Learn about their folklore, recent scientific discoveries and how to use them safely and effectively.
Finish the session with a herbal infusion at Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses and explore our herb garden with Melinda’s guidance too.
Melinda McDougall lives and works near to Brockwell Park and holds a first-class Master of Science degree in Herbal Medicine from Middlesex University.
