Join us for this special Christmas Zoom fermentation workshop with Jelena Belgrave when we are going to make Cranberry Hot Sauce and Celeriac Sauerkraut. At the workshop, as well as making our hot sauce and sauerkraut, we will chat about different fermented foods from around the world, how to incorporate them in your diet and what potential health benefits they bring with regular consumption.

You will end the workshop with your delicious ferments to eat at home and the confidence to ferment seasonally in your kitchen.

 

For the workshop you will need the following

Ingredients:

2 red peppers
3 cloves of garlic
3 chilies
1/4 cup of dried cranberries
1/2 celeriac
1 carrot
1/2 cabbage
Fennel seeds
Juniper berries
Bay leaf
Sea salt (not table salt)

Equipment:

A good knife
A grater
A chopping board
Some big bowls
2 clean jars 330ml or 3 bigger
Labels/marker pen

Jelena learned her fermenting skills initially when training with the world-renowned macrobiotic counsellor Simon Brown between 2009 and 2011. After 12 years in news and current affairs, Jelena left her job at the BBC to pursue her passion for food full time.  Jelena has numerous macrobiotic and wholefood cooking and fermentation workshops, published nutritious recipes in the Serbian magazine Sensa, worked with private clients and written a bi-lingual blog focusing on healthier food choices for the whole family. Jelena has run very popular Fermentation workshops for adults and for children at the Greenhouses since 2019.
