Everyone loves a butterfly – they are so pretty! And there’s loads of fantastic stuff to learn about them too! They are pollinators and their caterpillars are food for birds and other wildlife. By counting them, they help us know what’s happening to the natural environment too. This workshop takes place during the Big Butterfly Count.  Do get involved! https://bigbutterflycount.butterfly-conservation.org/

At this workshop, we will go on a butterfly fact-finding journey of discovery around the gardens.

Then we are going to make a beautiful flower printed calico butterfly using the Japanese printing technique Hapa-Zome. You’ll also make a butterfly badge too.

You are going to leave the gardens a butterfly expert, with a badge to prove it.
