Plants and Landscape Journeys in the Renaissance

April 13 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free – £15

Join artist and art historian Lucy Gallwey who will be giving an online illustrated talk about her research and travels in Italy in search of the possible landscapes Renaissance artist Giovanni Bellini may have travelled to, to create the setting for his famous painting ‘St Francis in the Desert’.(Copyright The Frick Collection)

Lucy will also be showing a short film she has made, the beginning of a longer work in progress, which brings together the St Francis painting and the landscape of La Verna in Tuscany.

We hope you can join Lucy for her fascinating and beautiful virtual travels in Italy through art and time.
