This day serves as an introduction to the Green Wood Corner at Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses. Having completed the workshop, you will become a member of the Green Wood group, and therefore able to participate in all subsequent drop-in sessions. Equally, if you are already a member, it serves as an opportunity to develop your spoon/spatula making skills!
We will cover:
- What green woodworking is
- Aims and principles of our group
- Basic safety principles
- The participant agreement
- An introduction to some key tools used in green woodworking – axe, straight knife, hook knife, drawknife
You will leave the day having made a functional object from a log.
Tea/coffee provided. Please provide your own lunch.
There are adult and concession tickets available for this workshop. However, we aim to be as inclusive as possible, so if you are unable to pay for any reason, please contact us at email@example.com.
Also note that if weather conditions are particularly bad, we may decide to postpone sessions at short notice, as we operate entirely outdoors. Sessions will be re-scheduled for a suitable time.
