Have you ever wanted to learn when and how to prune your fruit trees? Now is your chance. Join this winter fruit tree pruning workshop.
This is a practical workshop in which Cat our community gardener will explain the principles of pruning, demonstrate these and then you will have the opportunity to do some practical hands on pruning. Cat will demonstrate different kinds of pruning cuts, and explain how and when these should be used.
You will learn about the physiological reasons for winter pruning and also why pruning at this time of the year helps to ensure your trees’ good health and good fruit bearing capacity for years to come.
Dress warmly and if rain is likely in waterproof clothes. If you have your own gardening gloves and any pruning tools (secateurs, pruning saw) do bring with you. If you don’t have any of these, don’t worry, we can supply.
