SUMMARY:Springtime Embroidery Workshop: Stitching Folklore & Nature
DESCRIPTION:Nature has shaped the way we see and understand the world\, and this is why it plays such a prominent role in folklore. Many plants are deeply woven into stories and traditions\, often linked with protection\, healing\, and renewal. Their medicinal properties have not only contributed to folklore but also to the rich cultural practices of communities for centuries. \nIn this relaxing and creative workshop\, we will explore the symbolism and historical uses of four British springtime plants: daffodil\, snake’s head fritillary\, bluebell\, and yarrow. These plants are celebrated for their connections to healing and protection\, perfect for the changing of the seasons!! \nUsing simple embroidery techniques\, participants will stitch a spring meadow illustration\, learning a variety of embroidery stitches such as backstitch\, whipped stitch and French knots. The design will be framed within the hoop\, allowing you to take home a beautiful\, nature-inspired ornament that can be displayed as a decorative piece. \nThis workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some embroidery experience. All materials will be provided. The session will last approximately two hours\, and tea and biscuits will be available to enjoy while stitching.
