SUMMARY:Spring Community Celebration
DESCRIPTION:As the garden springs into summer\, join us at the Greenhouses to celebrate our local community and get out in the garden! We’ll be joined by some of our favourite local charities and organisations\, showcasing what they do. From beekeeping to bugs\, films to food growing\, come and find out how to get involved with your local community.  \nThere will also be a plant sale\, live music\, free kids craft activities\, garden trails\, and more ways to celebrate nature during this wonderful season! \nWe will be joined by brilliant local choirs\, Raise the Roof and Dulwich Folk Choir. \nFood and refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon. Including a homemade vegetarian meal\, tea and cakes\, botanical cocktails\, local craft beer and organic wine available in the barn. \nPre-book a delicious hot vegetarian dish with your ticket to avoid disappointment. All food will be vegetarian\, unfortunately we’re unable to cater for any dietary requirements. \nNatural Connection Yoga will also be running a yoga taster session 11.30am – 12.30pm. It’s free but booking is essential! Through our community events\, food growing initiatives and advocacy engagement\, we aim to support our community by tackling the barriers to healthy food\, land\, and resources. \nFind out more \nBrockwell Greenwood Workshop\nA community greenwood workshop that runs every Friday and Sunday at Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses. They use traditional tools and techniques to make their own spoons\, bowls\, furniture and much more! Come and find out more about how to get involved and learn this rewarding craft. \nFind out more \nBrockwell Hall\nBrockwell Hall is Grade II* listed manor house at the centre of Brockwell Park\, which has recently been restored thanks to funding from National Lottery Heritage Fund and Lambeth Council. The Hall has a café\, exhibition space\, and events spaces for community and commercial hire. We host a range of free and low-cost wellbeing\, cultural and creative community activities. \nFind out more \nBuglife – The Invertebrate Conservation Trust\nBuglife is the UK’s only organisation devoted to the conservation of all invertebrates and we campaign tirelessly for their protection. Our vision is a wildlife-rich planet where other species thrive alongside people. Our mission is halting the extinction of invertebrates and achieving sustainable populations. The charity currently employs 58 members of staff\, working in all four countries of the UK plus the UK Overseas Territories and a network of 500+ dedicated volunteers helps to support their work. Working alongside academic institutions\, our staff stand amongst Europe’s leading experts on invertebrates and conservation approaches. \nFind out more \nFriends of Brockwell Park\nThe Friends of Brockwell Park is a charity made up of members\, our committee and other volunteers who want to preserve the park for the whole community. We care about protecting and enhancing Brockwell Park as an historic\, landscaped\, beautiful open space\, a place of ecological and cultural interest. The park is central to the lives of so many people and we want to make sure that they are able to continue to freely enjoy its green hills and meadows\, its walled garden and paddling pool. Please join us to maintain an oasis of peace and natural beauty to which city dwellers can escape from the otherwise relentlessly busy urban surround. \nFind out more \nHerne Hill Free Film Festival\nHerne Hill Free Film Festival puts on free films (surprise!) in a variety of indoor and outdoor venues around Herne Hill every summer. We are volunteer-ran and are generously supported by sponsors and venues from the local area. Since our first festival in 2013\, we have screened over 168 feature-length films and 125 short films to 20\,000+ local residents. Come and join us this year in May! Screenings are free\, no tickets\, no need to book. Just turn up! \nWe are part of Free Film Festivals\, a network of volunteer-powered neighbourhood free film festivals. We always welcome new helpers so if you’d like to get involved\, we’d love to hear from you. \nFind out more \nLambeth Mutual Aid\nWe are a local Mutual aid organisation working to strengthen the community. Bringing people together through language exchanges\, organising workshops and our monthly cafe held at Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses. Everything we do is free of charge and we are trying to build a tighter knit and more powerful borough. \nFind out more \nLondon Beekeepers Association\nThe London Beekeepers’ Association (LBKA) is a volunteer-run members’ organisation and Registered Charity that represents the interests of beekeepers and urban beekeeping in the central London area (see neighbouring associations).
