SUMMARY:Talk | Lottie Delamain: Gardens That Can Save the World
DESCRIPTION:Join award winning garden designer Lottie Delamain to discuss her new book Gardens That Can Save The World and discover how to transform your garden or local green space into a tool for positive change. \nLottie Delamain is an RHS Chelsea award-winning garden designer. She trained at the Inchbald School of Design and has worked on gardens around the UK\, from small urban spaces to historic estates. She is also a regular contributor to House & Garden magazine\, and a trustee of We Are Grow\, a charity working with schools & communities delivering programmes in sustainable food growing and outdoor learning. This is her first book. \nGardens That Can Save the World presents exploration of the many ways in which green spaces can be the solution to some of our most pressing problems\, from loneliness to climate change. \nWith the world warming\, prices soaring and crises all around\, it’s easy to feel powerless in our everyday lives. But what if the solutions to many of these problems could be found simply by going outside? \nBringing together the galvanizing stories of 65 projects that revolve around plants\, Gardens that can Save the World reveals how small changes can have a big impact on you\, your loved ones and the environment around us. \nWhether you’re a green-fingered garden aficionado or have yet to step outside your front room\, award-winning garden designer Lottie Delamain’s uplifting book reveals how people from all walks of life are harnessing nature to right the planet’s wrongs. Packed with inspiration\, it will encourage you to try out easy-to-replicate strategies in your own plant pot\, balcony\, or further afield. \nLottie will be in conversation with Lauren Indvik\, deputy editor of the Financial Times House & Home section. \nhttps://lottiedelamain.com/ \nINFORMATION \nTickets: Pay What You Can (£14 / £10 / £7)\nRecommended price £10 \nRunning time: 90 minutes \nIf viewing on a phone please scroll to the bottom of the page to book.  \nWe are offering a Pay What You Can Scheme for these events to make them accessible to everyone. \nPay What You Can \nWe are offering a Pay What You Can Scheme for these events to make them accessible to everyone. We know that ticket price is a huge barrier for some\, and this Pay What You Can model offers people who can afford to pay a bit more the chance to support others who can’t. \nGetting to us & Access \nBPCG is in the middle of Brockwell Park\, between the tennis courts and the walled gardens. Follow the signs. \nExit from the Park should be via the Park’s Lido Gates on Dulwich Road. If dark\, please leave in groups and be sure to have a torch or use your phone torches. Walk left out of the greenhouses\, left then right through the tennis courts and down the hill to the lido. Click here to see a map of the route \nIf you are driving\, we recommend parking your car on Dulwich Road or near Dulwich Road. \nFind out more about Access at BPCG \nBPCG receives no core funding. Buying a ticket for this event helps us to stay open 7 days a week and supports our therapeutic and educational work with children\, young people and adults.
