SUMMARY:Culinary Seaweed Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join Melanie for the first ever culinary seaweed workshop at Brockwell Park on Saturday 13 June. We will be examining British and Irish seaweeds\, tasting different varieties\, learning the history of eating what grows in our seas and comparing to nations and cultures that have a long tradition of seaweed harvesting for food. \nWe will make and eat a seaweed salad as well as enjoy a tasting plate prepared by Melanie showcasing a variety of seaweeds. You will make your own bespoke furikake from a buffet full of dried seaweeds and fun flavours of different dehydrated vegetables and salts\, to take home with you. \n*due to using sesame seeds and possible cross contamination those with severe sesame allergies should not attend. \nPlease bring 1 small jar approx 200-250ml to take away your furikake in. \nAbout Melanie McIntosh \nMelanie McIntosh makes\, eats and talks pickles and ferments. From preserving the garden at an early age in Canada to scouting out all the flavours of pickled things while living in Japan thus cementing a love of ‘sour’ and funk. Melanie left cooking at Little Duck the Picklery to make and sell her ferments during the covid years. She has worked in R&D and as a chef in Germany\, Poland\, New York\, and most recently filmed a television show in Japan about the preservation technique called tsukudani. She hopes to inspire and have fun with these microbial meetings and pass on the excitement of creating new flavour potentials with low waste ideas. \nwww.melaniemcintosh.co.uk\nInstagram @melaniemcintosh \nINFORMATION \nTickets:\n£48 standard price\n£38 concessions \nRunning time: 2.5 hours \nAge recommendation: 12+ (under 16s must accompanied by an adult) \nIf viewing on a phone please scroll to the bottom of the page to book.

SUMMARY:Gig at the Greenhouses: Mambista with Michael ‘Bammi’ Rose
DESCRIPTION:Jazz\, Reggae\, Ska \nRespect is due to the elders. Bammi was an original member of the genre-busting Cymande\, he’s played alongside everyone from Aswad and Jazz Jamaica to Paul Simon and Miriam Makeba. \nBammi will be touring the UK throughout the Summer with Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra where he has been a mainstay for 20 plus years. We are extremely happy that he is able to fit us into his schedule for his patented selection of vintage joyous jazz\, ska and reggae. \nCome rain or shine\, as we can take shelter in the greenhouse and under marquees if the weather is unkind to us. \n\nJoin us for a wonderful session of seriously good sounds! \n\nInformation \nTickets\nMusic:\n£16 Standard price\n£12 Concessions\nFood: £7 per person \nTimings\n18.00: DJ Gerry Lyseight\n19.00: First set\n19:45:DJ Gerry Lyseight\n20:45: Second set\n21:30:DJ Gerry Lyseight\n22.00: Finish \nIf viewing on a phone\, scroll to the bottom of the page to book \nFood & Drink \nThe bar will be open all evening with delicious botanical cocktails\, local craft beer\, organic wine and soft drinks. \nDelicious hot food will be available from 7pm – 9.15pm courtesy of Carey’s Kitchen.
