DESCRIPTION:Stomp along to Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses for our wonderful weekly preschoolers’ group! \nJoin us for an outdoor story\, explore the gardens and woodland and enjoy story-themed craft activities and natural play\, in the beautiful surroundings of our ‘hidden oasis’ in the middle of Brockwell Park. \nDon’t worry even if it’s raining or too sunny as we can shelter in our greenhouse or The Barn! \nThis session is suitable for little explorers (approx. 18 month to 3 year olds) but all are welcome. All children must be supervised by an adult. \nTicket Information \n£6.50 standard ticket \n£4.50 concession / sibling ticket \nAdvanced booking is essential. SUMMARY:EVENING EVENT | Art in the Garden
DESCRIPTION:Tickets available on the door! \nCome and enjoy an evening of music and art & delicious food and drinks in the surroundings of our beautiful gardens. \nWe are hosting an art exhibition of nature inspired artwork created by local artists. The artworks will be displayed in and around the gardens and greenhouses and are accompanied live music from Shama Rahman a multi-instrumentalist and singer. Shama Rahman mixes the sound of her Bangladeshi sitar with urban productions\, jazz improvisations and folklores from around the world. \nOur BPCG community cooking group will be serving a delicious summer inspired hot meal of pea and potato curry\, with rice and summer inspired chutneys and sauces. \nThe bar will be open offering local craft beer (Brixton Brewery)\, organic wine (Wild & Lees)\, soft drinks and delicious botanical cocktails made from fresh ingredients from our gardens and our homemade fruit gin. \nThis event is a fundraiser. Any profits from this event will go to help BPCG stay open 7 days a week for our volunteering and educational work. \nTickets\nPay What You Can entry – £16 / £12 / £8 (Recommended price £12)\nPre-order food – £8 for a hot meal. Follow the signs.\nIf you are driving to the gig\, we recommend parking your car on Dulwich Road or near Dulwich Road.\nEntrance and exit from the Park should be via the Park’s Lido Gates on Dulwich Road.\nThe park will be dark when you leave the gig so everyone must leave in groups with torches.

SUMMARY:Willow Weaving Workshop: Make Your Own Hanging Basket
DESCRIPTION:Come along and enjoy a day of creativity\, learning the traditional craft of willow weaving! In this 5 hour workshop you will master weaving techniques and make your very own hanging basket which you can take home at the end of the day.  \nWillow weaving is a traditional method for making all kinds of beautiful baskets and containers using natural materials. There are many varieties of willow and many different coloured stems or ‘rods’. The different coloured rods add an extra layer of decoration to your willow weaving allowing you to weave different coloured patterns into your baskets. \nIn this workshop you will learn the traditional method of willow basket weaving but with a twist. The basket will have a pointy base to transform it into a beautiful hanging basket. \nHanging baskets can make an attractive addition to any garden\, entranceway\, front door or courtyard space\, and can be planted up with edible or ornamental plants including our trailing bush tomatoes\, Tumbling tom yellow and Tumbling tom red which will be on sale at our shop. \nAll material and tools provided. \nTicket prices\n£65 full price / £50 concessions \nRunning time\n5 hour workshop plus an hour break for lunch \n“As a complete beginner I loved learning about willow weaving in BPCG’s new barn. It was a small friendly group and Cat the tutor was great. We each made a basket and either finished them on the day or took home the materials and knowledge to do so. I was very proud of my slightly wonky one!” \nThis workshop will be lead by Cat Stevens \nCat studied sculpture at Edinburgh Art College. She is a professional gardener\, art psychotherapist\, potter and stained glass maker.
