SUMMARY:Earth Day Wine Tasting
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Earth Day by spending an evening with us in the Greenhouse tasting delicious wines and learning all about the wine industry’s response to climate change\, all accompanied by tasty food from the BPCG gardens.  \nWith climate change accelerating at an alarming pace\, the business of growing grapes for wine is a precarious one. Many grapes can only thrive within narrow climate parameters\, so wine makers from the UK and across the world are having to rapidly adapt as well as trying to improve their own relationship with the environment. \nLiam from Wild + Lees will share six wines that tell of the challenges (and\, in some cases\, opportunities) faced by winemakers\, and the innovations being practiced in order to keep the wine flowing. We will serve a range of food made using Greenhouse favourites to accompany the wines. \nWith a line-up of UK and European sustainable\, natural and organic wines\, expect a sample of the best for planet and palate! \nFood will be vegetarian and vegan. Unfortunately we cannot cater for specific dietary requirements on this occasion but please do let us know if you have an allergies we should be aware of. \nINFORMATION \nTickets: £55 \nRunning time: 2.5 hours \nAge restriction: 18+ (you may be asked to show ID) \nAll profits from this event will go towards our educational work and garden volunteering programme. \nThe money raised from buying ticket for this event will enable us to: \n\nHelp local children to learn about wildlife and play in nature – many of whom would otherwise never get the chance to\nTeach hundreds of kids and adults how to grow edible and beautiful plants from seed\nRun therapeutic enhancement sessions with local Special Educational Needs students\nRun therapeutic gardening sessions for adults with mental health needs every week of the year\nCreate volunteering and learning opportunities for thousands of local people\n\nThrough supporting our staff and helping us provide resources for school sessions\, therapeutic horticulture groups and volunteering\, your buying a ticket for this event will go a long way to help our community thrive! \nAbout Wild+Lees \nOur focus is on wines with a back story\, the craftiest of beers\, ciders both rustic and urban\, small batch gins with the cleverest botanical mechanicals and other delicious things. We are a shop\, a tasting room\, and you can also stay and have a drink while watching SE24 do its thing at our cosy window counter. \nhttp://wildandlees.com/
