Hats off and a heads up to all of you hardy gardeners who are intending to continue to volunteer at BPCG up to 20th Dec, This is our last day of volunteering and public opening. So we will be closed for garden volunteering and visiting from Monday 21st December through to Wednesday 6th January, opening up again on Thursday 7th January, although there are a few kids activities in this last week before xmas – check on the website for details.
To all those who have registered to volunteer but who are still patiently waiting for a volunteer induction, we will be in touch with you as soon as we can with dates for inductions. We are sorry for the wait.
Online this week, Jelena is teaching a Fermentation class on Saturday 12th December 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Learn how to make fermented Cranberry Hot Sauce (it’s amazing) and Celeraiac Sauerkraut. Booking here
In other news, there’s a lovely outdoor local exhibition from The Empathy Museum on Dalberg Road, Brixton SW2, called ‘From Where I am Standing’. This visual and audio exhibition is also online at https://fromwhereiamstanding.empathymuseum.com/
The exhibition charts local people’s experiences and responses to Covid. It’s highly recommended – do visit on Dalberg and/or online! You might notice that I am in it pictured in a very summery dress (remember summer heat?) talking about BPCG’s value to people during Covid.
Finally, as we draw to the close of 2020, we wanted to say huge thanks to you and all of our volunteers for all your work and your amazing support. It’s been amazing the way we have all worked alongside each other and continued to keep BPCG loved and busy and open for the community as much as possible during this most difficult of years.
We can’t for warmer weather and safer times, for us all to get together and have a big outdoor volunteer party to say THANK YOU.
