Saturday 25 October, 10.30m-12.30pm ‘It’s Our World’ The Big Draw at Brockwell Greenhouses
Join us for this popular annual art event where we’ll be using a range of natural materials to create artworks celebrating all aspects of our local environment. Drop-in free event. Donations welcome.
Sunday 26 October, 10.30am-12.30pm Junior Dig the Park
Looking for an enjoyable family activity that will also benefit your local park, teach your children some gardening know-how and keep you all rosy-cheeked through the autumn months? Our family volunteering sessions might be the answer. Dress appropriately and get stuck in. In October we’ll be preparing one of our veggie beds for winter by sowing a green manure crop. Come along to learn more about this established organic gardening practice. Meet at the Community Greenhouses.

Half-term workshop inspired by the festival of Diwali and Rangoli street art. Choose your colours, dye your sand and create a masterpiece . £5 per child (discounts available for unwaged/low income). Booking essential.
Monday 27 October, 2-4pm Woven autumn colour
Half-term workshop. Collect a mood board of autumn leaves and use their glowing colours to inspire you to create a woven tree artwork using natural and recycled materials. £5 per child (discounts available for unwaged/low income). Booking essential.
Wednesday 29 October, 10.30am-12.30pm Frightening night lights
Half-term workshop. Learn about traditional Jack O’ Lanterns and make an autumn-inspired tea light holder to keep the ghouls at bay. £5 per child (discounts available for unwaged/low income). Booking essential.
Wednesday 29 October, 2-4pm Traditional autumn games
Half-term workshop. Come and play traditional autumn-inspired games. Expect apple bobbing, acorn creatures, conkers, paper helicopters and more. £5 per child (discounts available for unwaged/low income). Booking essential.
Friday 31 October, 10.30am-12.30pm Ghastly greens and pumpkin lights
Make a spooky vegetable friend or carve a pumpkin lantern for Halloween. Drop-in session. £2.50 per child. First come, first served. When the pumpkins are gone, they’re gone!
Saturday 1 November, 10am-12noon Nature Explorers
Nature Explorers is our regular monthly nature club designed for young people aged 7-12 years and their carers. Our theme for November will be ‘animal homes’. New members always welcome. Requested donation £2 per child.
Sunday 2 November, 10.00am-12noon Make a scarecrow/guy
Come and make a mini scarecrow (c.1.25m tall) to protect your brassicas and other winter crops. Alternatively, your new buddy would make a splendid guy for your bonfire. £5 per child (discounts available for unwaged/low income). Booking essential.
