Natural Dye Workshop

Natural Dyeing at the Greenhouses

Diane Sullock and Penny Walsh, our very experienced natural dye practitioners, are running a plant dye workshop when they will teach you environmentally sound methods of the preparation and use of plant dyes on a variety of small fabric and yarn samples.

Diane and Penny will also take you around the Greenhouses dye gardens where you will see our range of natural dye plants and you will be able to gather some of the plant dye material.

Willow Weaving

In our fourth Creative Garden workshop on Sunday mornings, you can experience the ancient craft of willow weaving and find out why willow is such a versatile and amazing material!

Learn how to use willow to make attractive plant supports and protectors. These will enable you to grow plants vertically and make maximum use of your garden space.   You can take inspiration from the many beautiful willow structures we now have in Brockwell Park Community Gardens, thanks to Cat’s expert willow weaving tuition!

Show up just before 11am, dressed in warm clothes you don’t mind getting mucky, and sturdy boots and shoes.  If you have gardening gloves, bring them along. If not, we can lend.

Please do book for this workshop which will cost £15 (£12 concessions). This price enables you to take away your woven willow structure with you.
