DESCRIPTION:Tip The Waiter brings stunningly beautiful music from Greece\, Turkey and beyond\, from mountain villages to smoky harbours to urban apartment blocks.  These are songs of love\, despair and celebration. \nBPCG first saw Tip The Waiter perform in Maida Vale on a theatre barge (Moving Stage) and we were blown away. \nCome and enjoy\, in the Autumnal beauty of Brockwell Community Greenhouses: \nSotiris – Guitar and Voice\nGiorgos –  Bouzouki-lavta\nKostas – Kanun \n\nThis is a rare opportunity to hear top quality music from the Thracian and Balkan region – don’t miss!\nWe put on our Gigs at the Greenhouses to let people hear brilliant music\, enjoy our lovely gardens and to raise money so that the community can benefit from BPCG seven days a week. \nINFORMATION \nTickets\nMusic:\n£15 full price\n£12 concessions\nUnder 12s go free\nFood: £8 per person \nTimings\n6pm Doors Open\n6.30pm to 7.15pm First Set\n7.15pm to 7.45pm Food and Drink\n7.45pm to 8.30pm Second Set \nIf viewing on a phone\, scroll to the bottom of the page to book \nTo save paper\, do not print your ticket. SUMMARY:Lino Cutting Workshop: Spring Edition
DESCRIPTION:For crafters and those who’d like to take more time to be crafters! \nIn 3 hours\, we’ll guide you to sketch\, carve and print a postcard-sized design inspired by spring. You’ll take home 5 postcards with your print as well as the stamp\, so you can re-print your design as often as you like. \nFor inspiration\, have a look at the postcards for sale at BPCG that resident printmakers have created\, or have a rummage online\, there are some beautiful examples here\, here and here. \nThis workshops is as suitable for experienced printmakers as well as for those who’ve never held a pencil in their hand! \nThere’ll be plenty of free tea and biscuits available during the workshop but of course do feel free to bring your own snacks. \nINFORMATION \nTicket price: £20 standard price | £12 concession \nRunning time: 3 hours

DESCRIPTION:Stomp along to Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses for our wonderful weekly preschoolers’ group! \nJoin us for an outdoor story\, explore the gardens and woodland and enjoy story themed craft activities and natural play\, in the beautiful surroundings of our ‘hidden oasis’ in the middle of Brockwell Park. \nDon’t worry even if it’s raining or too sunny as we can shelter in our greenhouse or The Barn! \nAdvanced booking is essential. Tickets £6 per child\, or £4 for concessionary or sibling tickets.  If viewing on a phone\, scroll to the bottom of the page to book. \nPlease note\, all children must be supervised by an adult. Tickets required only for children who are walking.  Tickets are not required for accompanying adults.

DESCRIPTION:“Senegalese kora virtuoso/singer Kadialy Kouyaté showcases his fleet-fingered skills on this mesmerizing instrument\, complementing it with his hauntingly\, darkly beautiful voice.” –Time Out London \nBorn into the great line of Kouyate Griot in Southern Senegal\, Kadialy Kouyate’s Kora playing and singing has been appreciated at many venues in the UK including the Royal Festival Hall\, the 02 Arena\, the National Theatre and the Royal Albert Hall. Kadialy has also played venues and festivals across the world\, touring to Europe\, Australia and North America. So we are delighted to welcome him for the first time to our first 2023 Gig in the Greenhouse at BPCG. \nSince his arrival in the UK\, Kadialy has played a significant part in enriching the London musical scene with his Griot legacy. Kadialy has taught the Kora at SOAS\, University of London\, for the last decade and he has also been involved in countless musical projects both as a collaborator and a session musician\, performing with the RSC\, the London London Globe Theatre and the Oily Cart. In 2015 he took part in the remaking of the TV series Roots as a musician\, cultural consultant and dialect coach. \nKadialy has released several albums\, and makes regular radio and television appearances. His latest album Nemo meaning Blessings in Mandinka was released in April 2020 and has won rave reviews from the press. Nemo was recently selected Top of The World in the July 2020 issue of the Songline Magazine. \nKadialy will be playing solo at the Greenhouses.
