SUMMARY:Save Our Pond! Fundraiser Launch
DESCRIPTION:Join us this half term to launch our Save Our Pond fundraiser!  \nSadly\, our pond has some big repairs\, including a leak that has left it almost entirely depleted\, that will cost us around £7K. As a small charity\, this is a huge budget we simply don’t have. \nThe pond is a vital ecological resource that acts as the primary water source for the living things in our garden. What’s more\, countless children (and adults!) are captivated on a daily basis by the creatures\, small and large\, that call this pond their home. Whether that’s on a school trip or on a visit with the family at the weekend\, the pond provides a hands-on learning experience that gets our community excited and passionate about nature and caring for it. \nWe’re kicking off our fundraiser with some free creative activities with the wonderful conservation charity\, FrogLife\, for families this half term. We want to hear what the pond means to you\, whether you’ve come here on a school trip\, or simply enjoyed sitting by this peaceful oasis on the weekend. We’re also keen to get our community’s input into what they want to see in this space in the future. \nTickets are free\, donation are welcome. Reserving your spot helps us get an idea of how many people to expect.

SUMMARY:Kids' Half-Term Workshop: Who's Hibernating?

Children will then use foraged and recycled materials to create their very own hibernation hotel to take home – ready for a sleepy garden visitor! \nThis session is for children aged 4-6. Siblings outside this age range are very welcome. \nChildren must be accompanied by an adult throughout the session. SUMMARY:Lino Cutting Workshop: Vegetable Edition
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to sketch\, carve and print your own vegetable-inspired lino prints.  \nWe start with a short wander through the gardens to get inspired by what has been growing this harvest season – and then get making! SUMMARY:Stitching Nature: Embroidering Photographs
DESCRIPTION:Slow down\, get creative\, and see nature from a different perspective in this beginner-friendly embroidery workshop. \nWorking with two postcard-sized photographs taken at Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses\, you’ll learn how simple embroidery stitches can be used to add colour\, pattern and texture to an image. One photograph focuses on flowers and natural forms\, while the other looks at the Greenhouses themselves\, allowing you to experiment with plants\, architecture\, lines and space. \nWe’ll start by learning a few basic stitches and patterns before stitching directly onto the photographs. You’ll also have the option to incorporate small fallen or found natural materials from around the garden\, such as leaves\, flowers and twigs\, into your work. \nNo previous embroidery experience is needed. By the end of the session\, you’ll have your own embroidered postcard to take home\, display or send to someone. \nThe session will run for 2.5 hours and\, weather permitting\, we may sit outside and enjoy the summer surroundings of this green oasis in the city. \nAll materials are provided and there will be free tea and biscuits available during the workshop. Plus our little bar will be open with organic wine (Wild & Lees)\, local beer (Brixton Brewery) and botanical cocktails – card payments only. \nThis workshop will be led by design historian and maker Florencia Denti. \nInformation \nTickets: Standard price £35 / Concession £28 \nRunning time: 2.5 hours \nAge recommendation: 14+ (under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult) \nIf viewing on a phone please scroll to the bottom of the page to book.  \nTicket FAQ’sGetting to us & Access \nBPCG is in the middle of Brockwell Park\, between the tennis courts and the walled gardens. Follow the signs.\nIf you are driving to the gig\, we recommend parking your car on Dulwich Road or near Dulwich Road.\nEntrance and exit from the Park should be via the Park’s Lido Gates on Dulwich Road.\nThe park will be dark when you leave the gig so everyone must leave in groups with torches. \nMore info about Access and how to find us

SUMMARY:Lino Cutting Workshop: Summer Edition
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to sketch\, carve and print your own greeting cards whilst enjoying a summery evening in the surroundings of beautiful gardens and greenhouses. \nWe start with a short wander through the gardens to get inspired by the latest blooms – and then get making! You will end up with 5 greeting cards to take home and your stamp to re-print your design as often as you like. \nThis workshop is suitable for beginners as well as advanced printmaker’s who would like to come together to create and get inspired by our summery gardens. \nAll materials are provided and there will be free tea and biscuits available during the workshop. SUMMARY:Art in the Garden
DESCRIPTION:  \nTickets are available to buy on the door (card or exact cash only). Food may not be available if you haven’t pre-ordered a meal.\nJoin us for a summer evening of art\, music\, creativity\, delicious food and drinks in the beautiful surroundings of Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses. \nArt in the Garden is our annual celebration of local creativity\, bringing together artists\, performers and visitors for a relaxed evening among the gardens and greenhouses. Explore an exhibition featuring nature-inspired artwork by more than 30 local artists\, displayed throughout the gardens and greenhouses\, and meet some of the people behind the work. \nThere will be live music from alternative musician Gigi Wilde\, whose performances feel like watching a small play—artfully decorated truths with a touch of theatricality. Universally felt stories are brought to life through playful\, lyric-led music. \nYou can also join our poetry walk\, wandering through the gardens and stopping along the way to hear work performed by four different poets\, or take a peaceful moment for yourself during a free 15-minute guided meditation session. Henna painting will also be available throughout the evening. \nOur BPCG Community Cooking Group will be serving a choice of potato\, green bean and coconut curry or beetroot curry\, both served with rice and homemade pickles. Limited food available so pre-booking is highly recommended! We’ll also have some delicious homemade cakes. \nThe bar will be open throughout the evening\, offering local craft beer\, organic wine\, botanical cocktails made with ingredients grown at the Greenhouses\, homemade fruit gin\, soft drinks and other refreshments. \nEvery ticket purchased helps support Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses. As this is a community-led fundraiser\, all profits from the event go towards keeping the Greenhouses open seven days a week and supporting our volunteering\, educational and community programmes. \nFind out more about the event on Instagram @artinthe__ \n\nTickets\nPay What You Can entry – £16 / £12 / £8\n(Recommended price £12) \nFood\nPre-order food – £8 for a hot vegetarian meal\nMenu: potato\, green bean and coconut curry or beetroot curry\, with rice and pickles \nTimings\n– 6.30pm – Doors open and exhibition begins\n– 7.30pm – Free 15-minute meditation session\n– 8pm – Poetry walk through the gardens\n– 9pm – 10pm – Live music from Gigi Wilde\n– 10.30pm – Event finishes \nIf viewing on a phone\, scroll to the bottom of the page to book \nGetting to us \nBPCG is in the middle of Brockwell Park\, between the tennis courts and the walled gardens. \nFind out more about access and how to get to us \nFood & Drink \nDelicious home-made hot food\, botanical cocktails\, local craft beer and organic wine will be on sale. \nBook your food with your ticket to avoid disappointment. \nFood will be vegetarian\, but unfortunately we cannot cater for any other dietary requirements.
