Songwriting with the Seasons

Loading Events

Nature and the rhythms of the year are an evergreen source of inspiration for songwriters. In this workshop, we’ll use the autumn abundance of the garden as a source of ideas. By tuning in and noticing the textures of the season, we’ll awaken our creative senses and forage for material to shape into lyrics.

We’ll draw on the rich traditions of plant lore and nature poetry to help tell our own stories. We’ll learn about how words and melody can cross-pollinate to make meaning, and the power of repeating patterns in song.

This will be a joyful and relaxed session designed for all levels of experience, from beginners to seasoned songwriters. There is no requirement to be able to play a musical instrument, but please feel free to bring one, and come ready to sing.
