We offer a range of sessions year round!

All our sessions include hands-on activities and exploration of the garden. Our enthusiastic educators deliver:

Curriculum linked sessions for primary schools
Seasonal sessions for nurseries or pre-school groups
Sensory learning sessions for groups of special needs pupils
Bespoke sessions for secondary schools
Fun sessions for clubs and uniform groups

Sessions are designed to make the most of our beautiful outdoor setting with the option of using Brockwell Barn to shelter from the weather. They are offered Monday-Wednesday year round.

All activities are fully risk assessed and led by our experienced Education Team. For sessions that tailor to more than one key stage, we are able to adapt the activities to suit each age group.

Session details

1. How does a garden grow? (KS1 and KS2)
Why do plants have leaves? How do flowers turn to fruit? Why do seeds come in so many shapes and sizes? Each season will focus on a different life cycle stage, depending on what can be found on site so repeating this session at different times of year gives children new experiences. Students will plant and get to take home their very own seedling!

2. Edible Garden (KS1 and KS2)
This session takes a look at the food that comes from plants. What does it look like when it is growing? What part of the plant do we eat? Children have the opportunity to try seasonal produce straight from our garden. 3. Living things and their habitats (KS1 and KS2)

This session is an exploration of the various habitats we have on site to find and learn about the animals that live here. Session includes a minibeast hunt and pond dipping (weather permitting). In poor weather, we have specimens to investigate indoors with magnifiers and microscopes.

4. Humans and the Environment (KS2 and KS3)
This session explores our connection with the natural world. It involves hands-on investigations that can either be linked to soil or to climate change.

5. Seasonal Session (EYFS)
This session is specifically designed for little ones. They will look, feel, smell and find treasures of the garden appropriate to each season.

6. SEND session
This sensory session can be tailored to different year groups and abilities.

Standard session (1 hour)

Mainstream schools, 16–30 pupils: £125 + VAT / 15 pupils or fewer: £62.50 + VAT
Independent / fee-paying schools, 16–30 pupils: £165 + VAT / 15 pupils or fewer: £82.50 + VAT

Winter Discount

To help schools manage costs while still benefiting from our sessions, we offer a 20% winter discount for visits taking place between December and February. This is a great opportunity to experience the greenhouses during a quieter season, when sessions can be more flexible and tailored, while also making the most of a reduced rate.

Mainstream schools, 16–30 pupils: £100 + VAT / 15 pupils or fewer: £50 + VAT
Independent / fee-paying schools, 16–30 pupils: £132 + VAT / 15 pupils or fewer: £66 + VAT

Funded Sessions – Connecting Kids to Nature

Schools where 40% or more of pupils are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) may be eligible for a free session through our Connecting Kids to Nature programme, funded by the Julia Rausing Trust.

Please submit a booking request as normal. We will contact you regarding eligibility and funding. Funded sessions are subject to availability.

Indoor Lunch Space

We are able to offer an indoor lunch space (depending on availability) for an additional £15.

How to make an Education Visit booking request

Check our availability calendar below to find a date and time that works for your group.
Complete our online booking request form, providing details about your school, group and preferred session.
Wait for confirmation from our Education Team. Submitting the form does not automatically confirm your booking. We will review your request and contact you to confirm your visit.
Once confirmed, we will send you the information you need ahead of your visit.

Bookings are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and your date is not reserved until you receive confirmation from us.
