Join us for a cosy, intimate evening of music inspired by the natural world, as Alice Boyd launches her second EP, Cloud Walking. As the night draws in, gather for an atmospheric performance bringing the sounds of the mountains to Brockwell park. This twilight gig will offer a moment of warmth and reflection as we head into winter, exploring connection to landscape and the art of slowing down.
Alice Boyd is a singer-songwriter and sound artist based in South London. Her music intertwines folk-inspired harmonies, ambient electronics and field recordings to ponder the intersection of human life and the landscapes we call home.
For this early evening gig, Alice and her band will present her second EP Cloud Walking, inspired by a journey into Scotland’s Cairngorm mountains. In September 2023, Alice Boyd and eight other women retraced the footsteps of pioneering Scottish nature writer Nan Shepherd. Over four days, they hiked, camped and faced the elements, drawing inspiration and solace from the landscape and Shepherd’s writing.
Blending folk inspired vocal harmonies and instrumentation with field recordings captured during the trip, the EP captures the emotional highs and lows of being immersed in the mountains. These songs reflect not just the journey through the Cairngorms, but the deeper exploration of self that can happen when we step out of the everyday.
With contributions from a number of Alice’s musical collaborators, Cloud Walking is a reflection on connecting to landscape and the art of slowing down. Alice will be joined by her band Daisy Russell and Jacob Norris for this performance.
Vinyls and CDs of Cloud Walking will be available to purchase at the gig, or you can pre-order these via Alice’s website: www.aliceboyd.info

Support act | Catrin Vincent
Catrin Vincent’s voice is incomparable. Androgynous, lurching, disorienting, it is delivered as if her very life depends on it. A Guardian journalist wrote of being “dumbstruck” when she first heard it.” – Alexandra Pollard wrote in the Independent in 2020. Catrin is part of the four-piece ‘Another Sky’, a uniquely powerful band formed out of a love for the latter two Talk Talk albums. Her venture into a solo project begins.
We put on our Gigs at the Greenhouses to let people hear brilliant music, enjoy our lovely gardens and to raise money so that the community can benefit from BPCG seven days a week.
Getting to Us
BPCG is in the middle of Brockwell Park, between the tennis courts and the walled gardens. Follow the signs.
Entrance and exit from the Park should be via the Park’s Lido Gates on Dulwich Road, all other gates will be locked. Please arrive in groups and be sure to have a torch or use your phone torches. Walk up the hill from the Lido, turn left at the tennis courts, then turn right and you will see the Greenhouse gates on your right. Click here to see a map of the route
If you are driving to the gig, we recommend parking your car on Dulwich Road or near Dulwich Road.
The park will also be dark when you leave the gig so everyone must leave in groups with torches.
