Harvest, cook and eat your way around our autumn garden! In these hands-on cooking workshops, we’ll explore the edible garden with all five senses, harvesting seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs and discovering how freshly picked ingredients can be transformed into something delicious.
Basil & Nasturtium Pesto: Discover some of the surprising flavours hiding in our garden! We’ll harvest fragrant basil and colourful, peppery nasturtium before transforming our freshly picked ingredients into a vibrant homemade pesto.
Children will taste, smell, pick, chop and blend their way through the session, experimenting with ingredients to create their own garden-inspired pesto. Everyone will fill a little pot to take home – perfect for stirring through pasta, spreading on toast or sharing with the family.
Spiced Pumpkin Cookies: From pumpkin patch to biscuit tin! We’ll explore the garden to discover how pumpkins grow before turning our autumn harvest into warmly spiced pumpkin cookies.
Children will prepare the pumpkin, mix and shape their own cookie dough and discover the flavours of some classic autumn spices. Once they’re golden and baked, we’ll have a taste together – with cookies to package up and take home, too.
All of our sessions are led by enthusiastic, experienced educators who are DBS-checked.
